10 Top Habits of Healthy People

10 Habits of Healthy People, plant based, vegan

Are you curious what are the habits of healthy people? Are you wondering what are their secrets that keep them full of energy, radiant and thriving in life and health?  We have put together 10 top habits of healthy people – see if any one of them is part of your healthy lifestyle!

10. They Flip The Box

When shopping for food healthy people don’t care what’s written on the front of the box.  Or the side. Instead, they flip the box and read the back.  They read the ingredients. The front may have big promises in flashing colors plastered all over, but healthy people know where to find the true nutritional value. Healthy people educate themselves and know what ingredients they will not allow to enter their bodies.  They’re picky and make their choices wisely and carefully.

9. They Play With Rainbow

Healthy people know that there is power in colors. They love to eat rainbows off their plates.  Hence, they include a variety of colorful fruits and veggies in their diet.  They know that in order to have optimal health, and to receive a complete set of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, they need to include every color of the rainbow on their plate.  Truly, they love playing with their food.  Check out the rainbow colors at Nutrition Australia

8. They Break-Fast

Healthy people want nothing to do with obesity, high blood pressure or heart disease.  Therefore, they never skip breakfast.  They break-fast.  Their bodies are well oiled machines which never start the day on empty. They fuel up, load up and pack on nutrition.  They care for a good start of the day. Also, they know that a good beginning gives them higher chances of a good middle, and an even better ending.

7. They’re Old Fashioned

Although going out to eat is fun, healthy people know that it’s their own kitchen where the true magic happens.  They like to be in control of what they eat, what ingredients go into their dish and how it has been prepared.  When it comes to their health, surprises aren’t a good thing.  They’re old fashioned; in a good way.  They prefer making their breakfasts, lunches and dinners at home, with less chances for those pesky empty calories to sneak in.

6. They Write It Down

Healthy people do not let their lives and schedules run away with them.  Stress is truly a slow, silent killer. Therefore, investing in a functional calendar, planner or to-do notebook is a must.  Making lists, scheduling visits and appointments is one of the habits they stick to for life.  They understand it’s not worth losing sleep over one missed appointment, though they’d much rather not miss it in the first place.

5. They Lift

We all know that exercise is essential for healthy body. The truly healthy people however keep one extra trick up their sleeve.  They lift weights. Wether it’s 3 pounds of 20 pounds, it doesn’t matter.  They know that weight lifting increases metabolism, and it helps to lose extra weight faster.  Weight training strengthens bone density, which means stronger bones, less fractures, and less chances of osteoporosis.  It also strengthens the connective tissues, and makes body stronger and fitter overall for everyday activities.  Here are 13 Additional Reasons To Lift

4. They Make A Choice

Healthy people eat that cookie.  That’s right.  They understand that it’s not good to completely deprive themselves.  Behind every cookie however, there is a conscious decision.  Behind every cookie there are 20 cookies and cake slices they passed up.  Healthy people make informed choices everyday. More times than not, they pass up on sweets and snacks that contribute nothing positive to their health and wellbeing.  They make a choice to go with natural sugars from fruits rather than processed sweeteners.

no stress, healthy lifestyle, plant based, vegan, vegetarian

3. They Embrace Nature

Chances are you will not find them at home on their days off.  Healthy people know the importance of fresh air, sunshine and exercise.  You won’t hear them complain it’s too hot, too cold or too windy outside. They embrace nature and its elements.  They become one with it, for it recharges their life’s batteries. Spending time in nature is loaded with positive benefits, and passing up on that is not something healthy people readily do.

2. They Accept

Healthy people understand that this world is made out of variety of individuals, variety of choices, and beliefs. Additionally, they understand that others have the God given freedom to make different health choices than they do.  They don’t judge.  They accept. Whatever the reason behind the decisions of others, informed, or out of ignorance, healthy people do not push their health choices on others.  They agree to respectfully disagree. Also, they would like others to reciprocate.  Mutual acceptance, friendship and cooperation is the key to happy, healthy relationships.

1. They Tune In

Finally, healthy people know how to listen.  Not with their ears, but with their bodies.  They tune into the health frequencies they body emits and they know immediately when something is off.  The slightest headache makes them alert, and they look to remove the source of the discomfort rather than patch it up with a painkiller.  Overall health and wellbeing is a top priority, and they stay in tune even with the natural health news and discoveries, adjusting their lives and habits accordingly.

This is amazing, and just what I needed to read today. I’m usually pretty good with reading the boxes and playing with the rainbows, but I know for sure that I could make better choices!

Love this! I do all these things except lift weights. I did for awhile, but didn’t stick with it. I do practice yoga though, so I am still getting some resistance training.

Thanks for a wonderful post ! We changed to plant based diet 2 years back to give our kids and ourselves a healthy lifestyle and found a great improvement in our health. Its still a long road but we are taking one step at a time. My favorite part was to “Embrace Nature ” as we love to spend quality time outside hiking and playing outside in the park. Thank you once again for a wonderful post
