So you decided to turn your health around and you want to clean up your lifestyle and diet. Wonderful! In order to make that change in your life, you will need to make some changes in your kitchen first. Turning it into a Healthy Kitchen will take few steps. 10. Good Knife
Good knife is a kitchen staple. There is nothing worse than trying to slice a tomato with a dull knife, or using bread knife for spreading. Dull knife can be very hard on the wrist and joints. Using a dull knife or the wrong type of knife is one of the main reasons for kitchen injuries. Do yourself a favor: invest in good quality knives and keep them sharp at all times! 9. Mason Jars
Mason jars are making a comeback recently, especially with the help of the beautiful smoothie photos on Instagram. However, mason jars are more versatile than that. 8. Cutting Board
It may be a no brainer to some, but I confess, I’ve seen people cutting up their veggies (and meat too!) on glass, plastic or kitchen counter itself. My ex-boyfriend used a large, broken ceramic tile he found outside. I’m not kidding you! The proper cutting board will be made out of wood or bamboo. You may want to invest in one double sided, or two different ones: one for sweet tasting ingredients with grooves around it to collect the juice, and one flat for savory ingredients. You never ever want to mix the two. Mixing up the flavors WILL affect the final dish. Here is an Example of a good cutting board.
7. Mixing Bowls
Another seemingly no brainer, but how many times you’ve ran out of bowls to mix stuff in? I know I have, and I know how frustrating it can be when you just don’t have enough containers for serving or for preparation. On one of my shopping excursions I found this amazing set of nesting bowls, one fitting into the other. Check them out, I have a set in shades of blue.

The beauty of a dehydrator is that it allows you to eat foods containing all the vitamins and digestive enzymes intact. With a dehydrator, it is so much cheaper to make healthy snacks on the go, fruit leathers and power bars. Additionally, you will know exactly what goes into your food. 3. Food processor
Food processor is a staple in any kitchen. It is essential to making soups, purees, preparing pastes, pestos, dips, spreads, and making dough and nut butters. You can grind whole grains into flour and make bread crumbs. Food processor can handle jobs that your regular blender won’t. It’s especially great for making foods with thick consistency.
